STEMthusiasts community of practice: Facilitating a Design Session for Adults

05.28.2020 | 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

The Ohio STEM Learning Network, Educational Service Center of Central Ohio, and our partners want to make sure that we nurture and feed STEM instructor needs for the continuation of design thinking, even in a remote environment. Join us in a community of practice forum where we look at best practices, share designs for engaged inquiry in a remote setting and augment your ability to promote creative problem solving during the COVID-19 school closures.

Each week, we will bring you the best STEM thought leaders, design ideas, interactive dialogue with other STEM instructors and free tools to support you in making instructional decisions that fit today’s limitations.

If you are an experienced STEM educator, your experiences are exactly what we need!  And if you’re an inquiring learner in STEM, have we got ideas for you!

STEMthusiasts:  A community of practice

Facilitating a Design Session for Adults

5/28/20 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM – Registration

Design thinking is a problem-solving framework that begins with stepping into the shoes of your end users, in this case, our students. In this session, we will discuss possible design thinking approaches for adults when considering the conditions under which we may be operating our classrooms in the Fall of  2020.

This session will support teacher and school leaders in the utilization of the different steps of the design thinking process with the goal of designing a STEM/STEAM learning environment for the Fall of 2020.
