Soil & water quality in the classroom workshop

An outdoor professional learning event for science teachers on classroom soil & water investigations.

Join fellow Ohio science teachers* at Highbanks Metro Park for a day of digging into hands-on soil and water quality lessons for your students.

Participating teachers will:
– know methods of determining the quality local soils and freshwater sources
– understand the agriculture industry’s impact on soil and water quality
– be able to conduct lab investigations with students

Spend the morning digging deep into soil testing that you can do with your students before taking part in a Lunch and Learn with agriculture industry experts. Then conduct water sampling and testing, and bring home $250 worth of classroom supplies for your students.

This event and its included resources (.7 CEUs, supplies, lesson plans) are offered at no cost to science teachers thanks to The Ohio Soybean Council and Ohio Corn and Wheat.
