OTEEA STEM Fourth Monday Seminars: Heather Sherman and Thomas Roberts

08.24.2020 | 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The Ohio Technology and Engineering Educators Association, www.oteea.org (an affiliate of the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association, www.iteea.org) and STEM is Elementary (www.stemiselementary.com) are co-hosting free monthly STEM webinars for educators in grades K-12.

The webinars will be on the fourth Monday of each month. Each month will alternate in focus between elementary STEM (grades preK-6) and secondary STEM (grades 7-12).

The STEM webinars will feature outstanding STEM leaders and educators from across Ohio and the nation as they share their resources, ideas, “lessons learned” and events.

The first elementary STEM webinar will take place Monday, August 24 from 4 to 5 PM EST. We have two outstanding presenters for our kick-off webinar.

Heather Sherman, director of the Ohio STEM Learning Network (https://osln.org/) and a STEM Relationship Manager for Battelle Education. Heather will share about network STEM schools, OSLN resources and discuss how schools and educators in Ohio can qualify for the Battelle STEM Excellence annual awards.

Thomas Roberts is an assistant professor at Bowling Green State University’s Department of Education and is President of the Elementary STEM Council of the ITEEA (https://www.iteea.org/esc.aspx) and co-editor of the ESC journal, The Elementary STEM Journal.

Dr. Roberts will discuss resources available through the ESC and how individual or school memberships to ESC can offer many benefits to elementary STEM educators.

Please plan on joining us for this exciting inaugural OTEEA STEM elementary seminar!
