STEMthusiasts community of practice – Human Centered Design:  Creating a design challenge that enables students to create their own future…

05.7.2020 | 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

The Ohio STEM Learning Network, Educational Service Center of Central Ohio, and our partners want to make sure that we nurture and feed STEM instructor needs for the continuation of design thinking, even in a remote environment. Join us in a community of practice forum where we look at best practices, share designs for engaged inquiry in a remote setting and augment your ability to promote creative problem solving during the COVID-19 school closures.

Each week, we will bring you the best STEM thought leaders, design ideas, interactive dialogue with other STEM instructors and free tools to support you in making instructional decisions that fit today’s limitations.

If you are an experienced STEM educator, your experiences are exactly what we need!  And if you’re an inquiring learner in STEM, have we got ideas for you!

5/7/20 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM – Registration

In session two, Heather Sherman and Marcy Raymond will facilitate the understanding of human centered design while assisting in the formulation of design challenges for students to create environments that allow for social distancing, but do not result in being socially remote.  Kat Deaner from the PAST Foundation will share a process for creating design challenges that wow students and parents while participants share their classroom designs as we build a bank of locally developed design challenges.
