Bring back the power of ChLOE outdoor experiences to your classroom.
Join a special cohort of STEM teachers for a 2-day immersive professional learning experience at Ohio State University.
The workshop includes hands-on training, planning time, and collaboration with other educators.
Led by master teachers and expert place-based field educators, the program is grounded in the freshest pedagogy to incorporate into your classroom and allows you to engage with the ChLOE program as both a learner and a teacher.

Environmental science, Biology, Chemistry, Middle school teachers in Ohio
Where:
Waterman Agriculture and Natural Resources Lab at Ohio State University in the Controlled Environment Agriculture Research Complex (CEARC)
Note: Please plan on travel that will allow you to stay for the entire experience
Hotel provided for teachers who are not local
When:
Friday & Saturday, March 8 & 9, 2024
Workshop Day 1:
9:00 am–3:30 pm
5:30pm reception and dinner with industry professionals
Workshop Day 2: 9:00 am–1:00 pm
In this interactive workshop, you’ll:
- Know the 5E framework for developing better STEM learning experiences
- Understand the How Science Works model from the University of California Berkeley
- Be able to use a student-driven process for ensuring productive discussions in your classroom
Teachers who attend this workshop will be eligible to bring their students to a free outdoor learning field trip to Waterman Farms (includes lunch
and a transportation stipend if needed). Offered on a first come/first serve basis to the first 1,000 students.
About ChLOE:
The Children Learning through Outdoor Experiences (ChLOE) program partners with K-12 schools for STEM experiences that change students’ view of agriculture and natural resources.
About NTF:
Nourish the Future is a national education initiative developed by science teachers for science teachers that connects students to modern agriculture. It is a national partner of the GrowNextGen program.
