Join our winter kickoff for the design challenge

We’re kicking off the spring term with a fast-paced, classroom-focused seminar on bringing our annual design challenge to your classrooms.

Most problems in real-life are messy, ill-defined, and typically not solvable using an existing, already developed and fine-tuned approach. These problems, which are often related to our community and way of life, require a unique and flexible way of thinking, analyzing, ideating, and creating. How do we, as educators, prepare our students to tackle these problems?

The answer just may be the 2021- 2022 #STEMbuildsOhio Design & Entrepreneurship Challenge. This year’s challenge invites students to consider how they can improve their school, community, or world by reimagining an existing physical space, system, product, or service so that it is more equitable, accessible, or efficient.

Join us on Thursday, January 27, 2022, 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. for our winter kick-off event during which we will:

• Provide an overview of the design challenge process
• Explore different formats depending on the time available to implement the design challenge in your classroom
• Examine differences in the design challenge across different grade levels and subjects
• Discuss supports available to you and your students

This session is designed for educators new to the design challenge and our veteran design thinkers!
