The Hardest Math Problem is a 5th to 8th-grade math competition that focuses on understanding math in context through real-world word problem challenges. Individual students read through the problem description and then tackle solving it to demonstrate understanding of the word problem and mathematical comprehension. The problems are specifically tailored to each grade, and students compete for grade-specific awards and recognition. Registration opens on September 15th and closes on December 7th. Contributions to a 529 savings plan will be made to the top student award winners.
