The Project SMART (Science Modeling to Advance Reasoning-based Teaching for Middle School Physical Science) is a weeklong Professional Development opportunity for middle school science teachers to learn more about implementing recommended pedagogy in their classrooms that meets state and national standards for physical science. Funding has been used to support the creation of modeling-based physical science units. Participants will receive 5 units of standard based curriculum for grades 6 – 8, a stipend of $450, classroom materials, and 60 CEU’s. The program will be held at BGSU on July 20 – 24 from 9:00 to 5:00 each day.
You would be required to:
Participate in a week-long professional development, July 20-24, 2015 from 9-5 each day.
Implement and provide feedback on at least one unit during the fall of the following academic year.
