The Akron Hub of the Ohio STEM Learning Network has partnered with The Teach Better Team to provide virtual professional development to address personalized learning. The strategy that will be our primary focus is called The Grid Method. The Grid Method is a framework that helps teachers break up curriculum into bite-sized chunks. These chunks are tiered and scaffolded, so students can work through a mastery-based learning pathway. It allows students to learn, grow, and progress at their own pace while the teacher monitors progress and provides intervention, formative assessments, and feedback. Many of our schools and teachers have already seen success with The Grid, which is why we’re thrilled to share this opportunity.

You may access content earlier, but we formally will kick things off on February 4th, 2025 from 3:30-5:00pm virtually live with the Teach Better Team providing an overview of the power of the Grid. When registered, you will receive full access to the Teach Better Academy through June of 2025. There you will find a full course on the Grid and many other professional learning opportunities. Along the way, we will provide 4 virtual drop in help camp sessions designed to support your learning. In May, we will wrap up with another live session to reflect and share your successes and opportunities for growth. With only two synchronous sessions (kickoff and wrap up), you will be able to work at YOUR own pace from wherever you choose. The OSLN Akron Hub is providing 100 seats for any teacher in Ohio.
