Across the last school year, the Ohio STEM Learning Network reached 1,021 schools and districts, 2,722 educators, and 349,334 students in 84 counties.
Behind those numbers are classroom projects, design challenges, summits, site visits, and leadership teams working to make STEM a part of school every day, not an add-on.
This year’s OSLN Annual Report shows how those efforts connect into a statewide pipeline:
- Ignite STEM programs like the Ohio STEM Innovation Summit, classroom grants, and the statewide design challenge help schools take early, manageable steps into STEM.
- Strengthening STEM work through the regional hubs and leadership institutes helps schools move from “a few STEM projects” to a more coherent school-wide plan.
- Model STEM schools serve as long-term examples, hosting visits, mentoring other schools, and helping review new designation applications.
Along the way, Ohio’s $1.5 million state investment in OSLN was matched by $7.7 million from Battelle and another $750,000 in competitive grants, underscoring that this is a public–private infrastructure for STEM education across the state. As we look ahead, the report identifies next steps for scaling proven STEM models and strengthening K–12 STEM pathways across the state.

STEM Difference Reports
From 2017-2019, OSLN published a series of reports detailing enrollment, demographic, and achievement scores at Ohio’s designated STEM schools. Those reports are provided here as a historical record.
