Dayton STEM Hub Winter PD Series: Sparking STEM Connections
01.22.2026 | 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Looking for fresh ideas and a chance to connect with other educators? Join us for a relaxed, drop-in virtual series where we’ll share practical strategies and brainstorm ways to make STEM learning engaging across all grade levels and subjects. Come for one session or all three—whatever works for you!
Session 2 (Jan 22): Integrated Learning in Action
What does it look like when teachers break down subject silos and design learning experiences that connect multiple disciplines? In this session, we’ll explore integrated teaching and learning—a core attribute of Ohio’s Quality Model for STE(A)M Education—where students apply knowledge and skills from different content areas to solve authentic problems and create meaningful products.
You’ll hear from elementary, middle, and high school educators who have collaborated across subjects to design experiences that combine literacy, art, STEM, and more. They’ll share what worked, what didn’t, and how they navigated challenges along the way—because real integration isn’t always smooth, and that’s part of the learning process.
After the spotlights, we’ll open the floor for Q&A or breakout discussions by grade level so you can connect with peers and explore practical strategies for making integrated learning work in your context.
Whether you teach science, math, ELA, social studies, art, or physical education, this series is your chance to:
- See examples of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary learning in action
- Connect with fellow educators across schools and disciplines
- Explore strategies for authentic, standards-based integration that prepares students for future success
