The Ohio STEM Learning Network, Educational Service Center of Central Ohio, and our partners want to make sure that we nurture and feed STEM instructor needs for the continuation of design thinking, even in a remote environment. Join us in a community of practice forum where we look at best practices, share designs for engaged inquiry in a remote setting and augment your ability to promote creative problem solving during the COVID-19 school closures.

Each week, we will bring you the best STEM thought leaders, design ideas, interactive dialogue with other STEM instructors and free tools to support you in making instructional decisions that fit today’s limitations.

If you are an experienced STEM educator, your experiences are exactly what we need!  And if you’re an inquiring learner in STEM, have we got ideas for you!

Invention, Inquiry and Innovation:  Tools and Techniques for Covid-19

In our first session, Marcy Raymond and Heather Sherman will focus assistance on design thinking for structured and open inquiry opportunities for student learning.  Jeff McClellan, founder of STARTSole, will share tools for engaging students in inquiry using self-organized learning environments (SOLE) that are specifically designed for remote learning.  Also joining us from the PAST Foundation are Mary Schneider and Ashley Price.  Mary and Ashley will share the process for inquiry utilized by PAST Foundation for remote design challenges.  Heck, they’ll even invite your kids to participate in an afternoon coding camp for free!
