Over the last school year, the Ohio STEM Learning Network (OSLN) reached 880 schools and districts, 2,432 educators, and 367,675 students across 81 Ohio counties.
While those numbers tell an important story, they only capture part of the impact.
Behind every number is a student discovering a new passion, a teacher trying a new instructional approach, a school leader championing innovation, or a community partner creating opportunities for real-world learning. Together, these efforts are helping students develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to thrive in an increasingly complex and technology-driven world.
As we reflect on the past year, we are reminded that STEM education is about more than what students learn. It’s about how they learn, through collaboration, inquiry, innovation, and real-world problem-solving that prepares them for success beyond the classroom.

Why STEM?
At OSLN, we believe STEM education empowers students to ask questions, solve problems, and see themselves as future innovators, leaders, and contributors to their communities. Every day, we have the privilege of supporting educators and schools that make those opportunities possible.

Growing through partnership
None of this work happens in isolation.
OSLN’s impact depends on an extensive network of partners including the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, Battelle, Regional STEM Hubs, Educational Service Centers, school districts, higher education institutions, employers, nonprofit organizations, and STEM and STEAM designated schools. Together, these partners help create opportunities that no single organization could accomplish alone.
Whether through professional learning, school improvement efforts, computer science initiatives, student design challenges, leadership development, or STEM and STEAM designation support, this network continues to strengthen STEM education across Ohio.
Looking ahead
As Ohio’s educational and workforce needs continue to evolve, so does OSLN.
In the coming year, new resources such as the CTE+STEM Innovation Lab, STEM Innovation Roadmap, OSLN Learning Suite, and Partnership Playbook will help schools strengthen systems, deepen partnerships, and expand access to high-quality STEM learning opportunities. OSLN will continue to support educators, school leaders, and communities as they prepare students for success in an increasingly technology-driven world.
By expanding access, strengthening systems, advancing innovation, and activating STEM futures, OSLN is helping ensure that every Ohio student has opportunities to engage in meaningful learning experiences that connect classroom learning to future possibilities.
