Creating a Culture of STEM in the Classroom, K-4
Teachers will learn different strategies for the Common Instructional Framework (CIF) across varying disciplines. Sessions ranging from STEM, best practices in the classroom, team based collaboration utilizing the engineering design process, creating a culture of success, and utilizing data in the classroom will be among the different topics covered. Teachers will have strategies for content and literacy in the classroom ready to apply upon completion. $150.00/person, lunch included. STEM in ACTION (Actual Classroom Teaching: Investigative Opportunity in a New way of thinking) Grades 7-12
What is STEM? What does it look like in the classroom? How do you engage students in STEM? How do you design a STEM lesson? All of these daunting questions will be tackled collaboratively through an interactive day filled with demonstrations, videos, and technology tied to a common instructional framework. You will leave with a working knowledge of the ideology of STEM, STEM lessons, and video clips of best practices.
