This year-long course brings educators together to explore practical strategies aligned with the Ohio Career Connections Framework and to build networks that support meaningful career exploration for students. \nParticipants will engage in a series of five in-person gatherings and five virtual reflection sessions\, collaborating with educators across the region to strengthen career awareness\, exploration\, and preparation for students. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a $2\,000 stipend\, which may be used toward classroom materials\, travel\, graduate credit\, or other professional learning needs. Educators may also choose to earn 4 graduate credits through the University of Rio Grande. \nParticipation is limited to 20 educators across the region. DESCRIPTION:PFAS chemicals are an emerging concern in the Great Lakes and beyond\, with implications for cellular processes\, food webs\, and human health. \nIn this live online event\, you’ll examine PFAS from multiple science lenses and learn about soy-based firefighting foam\, a biodegradable alternative with no fluorine chemicals currently being distributed to firefighters. \nYou’ll hear directly from scientists and industry professionals\, including Mark Warman of Ohio Sea Grant\, then shift to classroom-ready ideas your students can investigate. \nLive Q&A included. SUMMARY:STEM Workforce Fellowship - Online Course hosted by the OSLN Central Ohio STEM Hub
DESCRIPTION:The OSLN STEM Workforce Fellowship immerses Ohio educators in authentic workforce-aligned learning experiences with regional businesses. Educators will translate these experiences into classroom-ready inquiry sessions\, mini-PBLs\, and full-scale PBLs. The Fellowship culminates in the implementation of lessons with students and the use of PortfoliOH to document artifacts\, reflections\, and impact. \nWho: Ohio educators\, 6-12th grade who are interested in developing their understanding of workforce alignment in the classroom\, growing their knowledge of design thinking and problem-based learning\, and providing real world experiences for students. \nWhen: March 10 – April 14\, 2026; Tuesdays\, 3:30 – 5:00 PM EST\nWhere: Virtual (Synchronous) and Asynchronous \nCredit: Educators are eligible to receive 4.5 CEUs for completion of the fellowship\, including participating in weekly virtual sessions and the submission of weekly deliverables through the PortfoliOH platform.
