The ENGAGEment Lab is an active “skillshop” grounded in factually supported interventions such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy(ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Participants will not only learn to regulate their own emotions. They will leave with a concrete “pitch” and implementation plan to bring these life-changing strategies back to their schools or organizations.

We welcome makerspace managers\, PBL-focused educators\, curriculum coordinators and administrators\, library makerspace coordinators\, college Fab Lab personnel\, industry experts\, and teachers just looking to expand their hands-on abilities and create something for themselves or their students. \nEach day begins with a rapid share of project ideas and examples\, open to all at the Institute\, then moves into scheduled sessions while allowing opportunities for open exploration and making. Friday concludes with a showcase of work completed throughout the Institute. We also host a network social on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

DESCRIPTION:Educators and intermediaries across Southeast Ohio are working to strengthen how students connect classroom learning to real-world career opportunities. \nTogether\, BB2C & the Career Pathway Support Network (CPSN) is launching a new professional learning opportunity designed to support that work: the 2026-2027 Community & Career Connected Learning Resources Course. This year-long course brings educators together to explore practical strategies aligned with the Ohio Career Connections Framework and to build networks that support meaningful career exploration for students. \nParticipants will engage in a series of five in-person gatherings and five virtual reflection sessions\, collaborating with educators across the region to strengthen career awareness\, exploration\, and preparation for students. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a $2\,000 stipend\, which may be used toward classroom materials\, travel\, graduate credit\, or other professional learning needs. Educators may also choose to earn 4 graduate credits through the University of Rio Grande. \nParticipation is limited to 20 educators across the region. DESCRIPTION:This is a 1-day workshop & behind-the-scenes industry tour for teachers preparing Ohio 6th–12th gr. students for careers in life science & biotech. \nThis workshop connects Ohio 6th-12th grade life science teachers with industry professionals and career-ready curriculum. \nYou’re already inspiring students with science. Now discover how to connect that passion to Ohio’s $15 billion life sciences industry. Leave equipped with everything needed to show students their future in biotech starts in your classroom. \n“A really great experience connecting with other educators all over the state of Ohio and getting to meet industry leaders as well. It’s been really inspiring!” \n“Gave me the opportunity to share with my students that science is happening in everyday life right here\, in companies in Ohio. The science they’re learning in my classroom translates to careers that hopefully they can envision for themselves!
