DESCRIPTION:SAE International is hosting their 2026 Mini Baja event at Briarcliff Motorsports Park in Nashport\, OH on Sept. 26. High school teachers from around the state are invited to assemble a team of students to design and fabricate a 4X4 off-road RC vehicle using digital design\, 3D printing\, and some off-the-shelf parts to participate in the High School Class of this event. High school students will also have the opportunity throughout the day to engage with several university teams that are participating in the Baja SAE program\, where college engineering students design and build full-size off-road vehicles that are put to the test in a dynamic validation event on the grueling course at Briarcliff. This is a great opportunity for students to see a potential path for them as they make plans after HS graduation. There is a registration fee for each team of up to 12 students which covers the cost of lunch and dinner for the students and teachers. If you are looking for something to truly excite your students about engineering and advanced manufacturing\, this is the program!

DESCRIPTION:Announcing a new Rural Ohio Fellowship! \nRecognizing that rural educators bring unique strengths and community connections to their classrooms\, the Northwest Ohio Hub of OSLN invites teachers to join a growing cohort committed to developing place-based STEM lessons that are rooted in local relevance and designed to inspire students in meaningful\, lasting ways. \nThe year-long STEM Rural Ohio Fellowship is open to any rural educator (K-12) in northwest Ohio. \nWith a cohort of other rural educators\, participants will learn about their community’s STEM educational landscape. They will reflect on local challenges and make new connections. By the conclusion of the program\, the study of place-based learning will guide teachers in developing new targeted solutions to address current needs in their home communities. \nThe program combines a statewide cohort with in-person workshops in Northwest Ohio with three in-person workshops and Four 60 minutes Virtual Check-ins throughout the academic year. \nDuring the year-long STEM Rural Ohio Fellowship\, the participants will complete an in-depth learning experience including: \n· multiple workshops to explore STEM best practices for your classroom \n· virtual “booster” sessions to support classroom place-based learning \n· collaborative experiences to connect with STEM leaders and veteran teachers to build a professional network \nEligibility \nApplicants must be currently employed as a classroom teacher in a school identified as rural in the state of Ohio. SUMMARY:Northeast Ohio Hub: Fall School Spotlight at St. Mary Chardon
DESCRIPTION:About the School: St. Mary School was founded in 1961 and was first designated as a STEM school in 2017. St. Mary’s services preschool through 8th grade students with 221 students overall. There is one homeroom per classroom. Our mission is built upon three pillars: Faith\, Family\, & Future. Students are able to inquire about their faith so that it can grow. We work in collaboration with the families\, as we use STEM to prepare students for their future. \nAbout the Tour: St. Mary’s tour will begin in the school lobby and show how students put their mark on the school and how the school’s partners played a role. Visiting classrooms\, our Learning Garden and newly renovated Library will show how STEM is put into practice. After the tour there will be a Q & A session to answer your questions. \nIntended Audience: School Educators\, Administrators\, Aspiring STEM and STEAM Schools\, Industry partners\, Higher Ed partners\, Local and State officials – ALL are welcome!

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a STEM School spotlight visit to The Dayton Regional STEM Elementary School\, hosted by DO STEM\, on November 11th\, from 9:30 a.m.–11:30a.m. This tour offers regional partners an inside look at how early STEM experiences lay the foundation for student success across the K–12 continuum. Attendees will participate in a guided facility walkthrough of the brand-new\, 60\,000-square-foot facility built to house 400 elementary innovators and networking and collaboration amongst DRSS educators and leadership as well as networking opportunities to explore cross-sector opportunities and place-based partnership. \nAbout the School:\nThe Dayton Regional STEM Schools is a public\, independent STEM district serving students in grades K–12 from across the Dayton region. The mission is simple but powerful: to prepare and inspire the next generation of leaders and innovators. At STEM\, learning comes alive through hands-on\, project-based experiences where students solve authentic problems\, explore industry-grade technology\, and connect with real-world professionals.
