SUMMARY:From Vision to Evidence: A Deep Dive into Ohio’s STEM/STEAM Designation Rubric and Ohio Quality Model - A Three Part Webinar Series with the Central OH STEM Hub
DESCRIPTION:Join the PAST Foundation\, the Central Ohio STEM Hub for the Ohio STEM Learning Network\, as we embark on a three part webinar series to dive deeper into understanding the Ohio’s STEM/STEAM Designation Rubric and the Ohio Quality Model for STEM/STEAM Education. Participants will gain a better understanding of the expectations\, interpret the rubric language\, and can then build an internal improvement process that leads toward designation or redesignation. \nThis series will be organized into three parts:\nPart 1: Understanding the Ohio STEM/STEAM Designation Rubric.\nPart 2: Using the Ohio Quality Model for STEM/STEAM to strengthen practice.\nPart 3: Turning evidence into a designation-ready action plan. \nWho:\nThis series is best suited for principals\, assistant principals\, teacher leaders\, district STEM coordinators\, curriculum directors\, and school design teams. It will also be helpful for schools exploring first-time designation and those preparing for redesignation. \nWhen & Where:\nThis three-part series will take place on Wednesdays from 4pm-5pm starting Wednesday\, May 13\, 2026. Once registered\, you will receive a zoom link and calendar invitation to attend. You may choose to attend all three parts of the series but attending one or two is also acceptable for participants. \nWebinar Series Dates:\nPart 1 – Wednesday\, May 13\, 2026; 4PM-5PM\nPart 2 – Wednesday\, May 20\, 2026; 4PM-5PM\nPart 3 – Wednesday\, May 27\, 2026; 4PM-5PM

SUMMARY:BioPathways Central Ohio 2-day workshop
DESCRIPTION:Every student is directly affected by Ohio’s life science industry\, whether it’s through their own personal health\, the health of a loved one\, or the ambition to pursue a career in life sciences. \nTeachers: level up your understanding of life sciences career skills and industry trends. Collaborate with bioscience experts from Ohio Life Sciences during our 2-Day teacher workshop. \nDesigned for teachers of Biology\, AP Biology\, Biotech\, and 8th grade science\, along with others interested in learning more about life sciences careers in Ohio\, this workshop explores NGSS-aligned concepts and equips students for careers in life sciences. \nDuring 2 full days of immersive experiences\, teachers will: \n\ndo career-focused bioscience investigations\nvisit an industry site applying the science you teach\nengage with industry experts during a catered dinner\n\nHands-on investigations include: biotech lab skill stations\, protein expression and purification\, BACE simulation\, pathogen transmission and immune response. \nAs a result of this workshop\, you’ll: \n\nKnow… how to teach design thinking and writing protocols\nUnderstand… bioinformatics teaching techniques\nBe able to… guide students in modeling protein synthesis\, expressing proteins\, and purifying proteins.\n\nBring back: \n\n1.6 CEUs\nIndustry insights\nFirsthand experience\nSupplies to facilitate activities in your classroom\n\nMeals are provided. A hotel stay is included for out of town attendees. Registration is limited to 30 Ohio teachers. \nSponsored by Ohio Life Sciences in partnership with educationprojects.org

SUMMARY:BioPathways Northeast Workshop
DESCRIPTION:This one-day workshop connects Ohio 6th-12th grade life science teachers with industry professionals and career-ready curriculum. \nYou’re already inspiring students with science. Now discover how to connect that passion to Ohio’s $15 billion life sciences industry. Leave equipped with everything needed to show students their future in biotech starts in your classroom. \n“a really great experience connecting with other educators all over the state of Ohio\, and getting to meet industry leaders as well. It’s been really inspiring!” \n“gave me the opportunity to share with my students that science is happening in everyday life right here\, in companies in Ohio. The science they’re learning in my classroom translates to careers that hopefully they can envision for themselves! It really gets me excited.” \nAs a result of taking part in this learning experience\, participants will: \n\nKnow… protein synthesis\, engineering design\, protein folding principles\, amino acid properties and how their properties determine protein final structure\nUnderstand… how to implement engineering design challenges\, apply these understandings to gene therapy\, vaccines\, and drug development\nBe able to… pipette accurately\, fold proteins according to chemical structure and amino acid properties\, relate activities to current industry career needs\n\nStart in the workshop and: \n\ndo hands-on science\ncollaborate with fellow life sciences educators\nuse career-focused lessons informed by Ohio industry\n\nEnjoy lunch (our treat!) with fellow teachers. \nThen\, during the industry visit\, you’ll: \n\ntour a working life sciences facility\nconnect with experts at an industry reception\nsee firsthand what students can expect from life sciences careers\n\nTake back: \n\n.9 CEUs\nmodular life sciences curriculum materials\nscience equipment for your classroom investigations\n\nPlease note that the event begins with registration at 8a ends at 6p – participants are expected to attend the full day including the tour and reception. \nRegistration is limited – Ohio teachers only.
