DESCRIPTION:How is science contributing to the future of global food and energy security? Learn how advancing technologies help us produce more with less. Each teacher will receive over $250 worth of classroom lab supplies. You’ll also take part in inquiry-based\, hands-on science labs with an engineering design focus covering these topics:\n– Biotechnology\n– Soil science\n– Water quality\n– Energy production\n– Sustainable agricultural practices \nThese lessons address Ohio Science Standards in middle school and high school. \nMeet industry experts and take an industry tour. Enjoy an evening dinner where you’ll meet and talk with local farmers and industry experts and see technology demonstrations.\nHotel and meals provided by Ohio Corn & Wheat. The hotel accommodations that are being provided are single rooms in an effort to provide the safest environment for you. 16 hours of contact time will be awarded for the 2 day workshop\, and 1 hour of graduate credit is available from Ashland University for $185. \nPLEASE NOTE: This workshop is geared toward middle and high school teachers. The content covered is above the level of elementary grades science.
