Problem-Based Learning Design Workshop

November 15, 2016 - November 17, 2016

Provided by the Ohio STEM Learning Network (OSLN)-Akron Hub, this 3-day institute is  designed to provide workshop attendees with an introduction to Problem-Based Learning (PBL) based on the model developed at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy® (IMSA) and adapted by National Inventors Hall of Fame® School … Center for STEM Learning.

Participants will discover how to:

  • Connect your district’s teaching standards through a self-designed PBL
  • Design a PBL unit considering the needs and interests of their learners for classroom use
  • Identify ways to incorporate existing lessons into a PBL unit
  • Understand what it means to be a learning coach in the PBL process
  • Explore how PBL strategies increase collaboration, creativity and critical thinking
