Problem-Based Learning Design Workshop

Provided by the Ohio STEM Learning Network (OSLN)-Akron Hub, this 3-day institute isIMG_0480  designed to provide workshop attendees with an introduction to Problem-Based Learning (PBL) based on the model developed at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy® (IMSA) and adapted by National Inventors Hall of Fame® School … Center for STEM Learning.

Participants will discover how to:

  • Connect your district’s teaching standards through a self-designed PBL
  • Design a PBL unit considering the needs and interests of their learners for classroom use
  • Identify ways to incorporate existing lessons into a PBL unit
  • Understand what it means to be a learning coach in the PBL process
  • Explore how PBL strategies increase collaboration, creativity and critical thinking

March 15-17, 2016

$475 per educator, includes lunch and materials, including an entire PBL design toolkit

2 graduate credit hours available through the University of Akron for $350 or 2.4 continuing education units are available upon workshop completion
