The Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network (MAGNET) has partnered with five high schools, three community colleges, and 11 local manufacturing companies to help solve the manufacturing skills gap and pipeline challenges of Northeast Ohio. MAGNET’s Early College, Early Career program takes students inside manufacturing companies. Over 1,200 high school students have learned about manufacturing careers through this program. Through Battelle’s partnership with LIFT (Lightweight Innovations for Tomorrow), the Ohio STEM Learning Network is working to increase awareness of jobs in advanced manufacturing in support of MakerMinded. MakerMinded is an online STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) learning and educational activity platform where students learn about advanced manufacturing and find transformational STEM learning experiences that set them on track towards advanced manufacturing careers.
