Present at Connections to Education Conference in July

We are looking for a few great conference presentations for this year’s Connections to Education Conference. Like last year, we will again collaborate with the Ohio Association for Career Technical Education (ACTE) and fund part of the annual conference.

While we are not having an official OSLN meeting at the conference, we will be presenting our STEM Innovator Awards, hosting keynote sessions, and recruiting STEM breakout session presenters.

Those presentations are how you can contribute today. The Connections to Education conference is the largest gathering of career-technical educators in the state. It’s an excellent opportunity to share STEM best practices with our CTE peers.  Applied learning is the hallmark of both STEM and CTE, and we would love to have your voices heard at this conference.

Here’s a sample of last year’s STEM sessions:

Going Beyond Project-Based Learning: Students as Scientists Where STEM and CTE Meet: Strategies that Engage Minds at Collins Career Technical Center
“Making” the Connection:  Igniting student interest in Advanced Manufacturing skills and job opportunities CS4OH with
Drone Racing – the next generation of STEM STEM Careers in Ohio’s #1 Industry

Are you using technology in your classroom in new ways? Have you created a new food science or geology course that you just can’t wait to share with others?  Are you using your school’s greenhouse or makerspace or garden to engage students and teach them skills for the future?  Have you found a new classroom organization or management technique that you can’t live without?

If you have any idea, approach or program that you want to share with other educators, please submit a proposal to present at this year’s Connections to Education Conference.
